ABOUT SMASHING STARS

Launched in 2009, Smashing Stars is an activity powered by Managing Director of Stixstar Group (John Junior) with the main aim to help in crime prevention within the community.   The activity is solely funded and reliant on the funding provided by local and national businesses. Smashing Stars has fast taken London by storm and in 2009 it gained reviews from reputable newspapers and online news, in addition the event heavily featured on national television through Flava TV.

Smashing Stars fulfils its objectives in an innovative and interactive method by creating quaterly Ten-pin grand bowling tournament that is team captained by popular UK personalities (Smashing Stars) who are successful within their talented fields. The popular UK personalities (Smashing Stars) are teamed up with guests to win medals, trophies and prizes 3-4 times a year at the plush and exclusive 45,000 sq ft venue, Queens Ice & Bowl in Bayswater, London.

The theme is “Play Games, Not with Your Life” and during the intervals volunteers from Crimestoppers www.crimestoppers-uk.org come in to do talks and give advice. Crimestoppers www.crimestoppers-uk.org have a very important message to encourage everyone whichever community you are in to break the wall of silence and anonymously provide details to them about violent crimes you may have witnessed. You can give your information in confidence, without even providing a name or contact details.

 
The idea of Smashing Stars has allowed people to come together with one common interest being Play Games, Not with Your Life.

The main objectives for the activity are promoting community cohesion, tackling crime and victimisation and working with young people.

The activity is promoted to young people particularly in high risk areas, with the aim of keeping them off the streets, having fun, and at the same time learning about how they can assist the police and improve the safety of their communities.
