Smashing Stars in a nutshell is a grand bowling tournament, introducing an innovative way to educate young people about anti gun and knife crime initiatives.

The bowling tournament has 10 team captains who are popular UK personalities and examples of current successful individuals within the community, they head their team to hopefully win the tournament.

In 2010 Smashing Stars will be working with Crimestoppers (link – www.crimestoppers-uk.org) to educate people on how to report crime safely and anonymously. Smashing Stars is fun, exhilarating, informative and great place to meet new people.

Also it’s definitely a destination for those who are competitive and don't enjoy losing.

Who are the Celebrity Team Captains ?

Talents of the team captains chosen for the grand bowling tournament could range from music, comedy, acting, fashion, modelling, entrepreneurship and even dance.

There are no limits to what talents we as human beings are capable of and so talent fields of team captains chosen for the event will vary.

As an example previous Smashing Stars for the event have included talented musician Bashy, actor & comedian Jason Lewis (MTV), presenter & comedian Eddie Kadi (Blackgrape), actor Femi Oyineran (Kidulthood and Adulthood), actor & musician Arnold Oceng (Kidulthood and Adulthood) and fashion designer Patrick Kevin.

Why is Bowling Your Chosen Game ?

Bowling is a popular game enjoyed by 95 million people in more than 90 countries worldwide, including Britain. The game is used by top corporations such as the BBC to improve team building, confidence, competitiveness, productivity and performance.

Also, Bowling is an anaerobic type of physical exercise, similar to walking with free weights. Bowling helps in burning calories and works muscle groups not usually exercised.

The flexing and stretching in bowling works tendons, joints, ligaments, and muscles in the arms and promotes weight loss.

Apart from the physical benefits it also has psychosocial benefits, strengthening friendships or creating new ones in groups.

Can I Still Support If I Don't Bowl ?

Smashing Stars is for everybody. You can engage in other activities at the resident venue including ice skating, arcade, karaoke, computer games or just chill at the bar and cheer on your peers that might be in the bowling tournament.
